In a significant step towards advancing education accessibility, EduFi Financial Services and Metropolitan International United College (MIUC) came together on the 31st of January for a momentous Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony. The event, held at the MIUC campus in Islamabad, marked the beginning of a promising collaboration that aims to enhance educational opportunities for students across Pakistan.
The MoU outlines the partnership’s scope, primarily focusing on the implementation of EduFi’s innovative “Study Now, Pay Later” facility for the students of MIUC. This pioneering financial service is designed to alleviate the financial burden on students, ensuring that they can pursue higher education without immediate financial constraints.
Key participants from EduFi, including Aleena Nadeem, the Chief Executive Officer, graced the ceremony with their presence. On the MIUC side, Waleed Mushtaq, who holds the esteemed positions of CEO and Patron in Chief of MIUC and Roots International Schools, served as the signatory.
Speaking at the event, Aleena Nadeem highlighted the transformative impact that EduFi’s Study Now, Pay Later facility can have on shaping the educational landscape. She emphasized the company’s commitment to fostering an environment where financial constraints are not a barrier to quality education.
Waleed Mushtaq, in his address, expressed his enthusiasm about the partnership and the opportunities it will open up for MIUC students. He emphasized the pivotal role education plays in shaping individuals and societies, underscoring the importance of higher education in all aspects of life.
Mr. Nurken Rzaliyev, Chief Strategic Officer at InDrive was also invited as guest speaker who shared valuable insights into the significance of fundraising through venture capitalists. MIUC, with its eight campuses spread across Pakistan, caters to more than 7500 students. The collaboration with EduFi is expected to significantly enhance the accessibility of higher education for MIUC students, providing them with the financial flexibility to pursue their academic goals.
EduFi’s Study Now, Pay Later services are set to be officially launched in March 2024, pending approvals from the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP). This launch will mark a milestone in the efforts to make quality education more inclusive and attainable for students, aligning with both EduFi and MIUC’s commitment to empowering the youth through education.
